Executive Producer / Director / GM, WLAE-TV
Currently, Ron Yager serves as the General Manager of WLAE-TV (PBS) in New Orleans. With over 25 years of experience in the broadcast industry, his projects have won numerous awards and have been seen on networks both nationally and internationally. He has directed *NSYNC in concert for In Theater Entertainment and Paul Simon, Fats Domino and the Neville Brothers for Trio Digital Cable’s Jazz Fest special. Ron also directed Sting at Jazz Fest for a VH1 special and the musical Evangeline for PBS. He has produced the music specials Avalon - Live at the Factory for PAX and Fats Domino: Walkin’ Back to New Orleans for PBS. Ron also produced "Inside Saints", the official TV magazine show for the New Orleans Saints and “Tiger Tracks” and “The Byron Scott Show” for Cox Sports Television.
From 1996-1998, Ron was Vice President, Creative Director for Take One Productions in New Orleans. During his tenure he directed Music Inferno - Atlanta ‘96, a series of 21 music concerts taped at the House of Blues in Atlanta during the Centennial Olympic Games. Included in the series was a 90-minute television special for VH1 entitled The Blues Brothers - On Parole & In Concert, Tito Puente and George Clinton for FOX Latin America, Al Green and Jerry Lee Lewis for NHK Japan and A Night to Remember with Bob Dylan. He also directed an Oleta Adams project for Harmony Records and produced and directed the documentary "The Message In The Music" for PBS and PAX.
From 1994 -1996, Ron served as Vice President, Creative Director for House of Blues Productions in Los Angeles. He supervised all House of Blues television projects and directed Live From The House of Blues, a 26 episode music series broadcast on TBS and distributed by Time Warner. As a member of House of Blues Productions, Ron also directed Farm Aid VII, New Year’s Eve Coast to Coast - Live from Universal Studios, The Saturday Celebration for Pope John Paul II, MoJazz Live and over 200 acts from The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
From 1982 –1994, Ron was a producer and Creative Services Director for WDSU (NBC) in New Orleans.
